    Front bumper mesh (RS2)

Does anyone know the best place to source the correct wire mesh for the bumper on the RS2, mine is missing on one side

Also, is this an easy fit without removing the bumper? How does it attach?

    Cheers

    Tom

I noticed Audi Tradition had these in stock whilst trawling their very slow website yesterday. Perhaps you can still get them from your Audi dealer too.
They come out very easily as they are fixed with a clip fixing which is attached to the mesh. You turn the clip screw to unlock and then tilt them slightly to remove. Refitting is the reverse.

OK, this sounds perfect, I'll take a look on the AT website. I was hoping to avoid having to custom fit this from a big sheet of mesh and looks like I will be able to with that.
      Thanks

This is NLA according to Audi today.

Is there any chance you could send me a link to what you found on the German website please?

          Search 'grille' and browse through...

          Druve side Grill

50E plus shipping, I'd be looking to buy a whole new set but for the price - I just need to know how to coat it as my last attempt to paint only lasted one winter before it started to peel and turn to rust!

Thanks Ross, I've saved the link and will look at replacing it soon.

Does it need painting? I would have guessed this already comes with some kind of weather proof coating?

They do, but mine were worse for wear aged 17 years so they were wire brushed, sanded, followed by Primer + Paint and looked awesome. The grill still looks good but the salt + water from a hard winter seems to have killed the bumper grills!

Same here - mine only lasted a winter after being blasted, etch-primed and painted.

I could badly do with a new set also.

Is that the POR-15 paint Jamo? I have the "metal ready" spray, don't think I've ever used it or know what it's actually for!

                      Hi all,

Does anyone have a photo of the clips,or a link to where i could get the clips that hold the above grill in place.

                      Thanks
                      Andy

There is just one clip on the driver's side that you turn to allow the grille to tilt forward and lift out. The grille sits in two slots moulded into the bumper. I'll dig out a picture tonight.
