    Attaching RS2 bumper

After "shaving" back the corners of the RS2 bumper to avoid it catching the tyres, where you normally attach them with a screw by the wheel arch (not that that ever worked), the bumper hangs down quite a bit, exposing the rusty wing panel behind it and looks pretty silly.

I attempted to fill it with glue to at least hold it in place whilst i was at spa, but this barely made it down the road and i resorted to good old cable-ties for the trip, attaching them round the corner of the bumper and through a hole in the wing, but even these didn't hold and regularly snapped having left lovely marks on the bumper.

I can't think what else i can do besides duck-taping it up, but that's not an option.

    Any ideas?

    How about some photos?

I could assume what you could do is use a small metal bracket between the bumper plastic arch piece and the fender so that you can attach flat screws and hold it inplace while making new holes on the plastic piece of the bumper

I'll get a better photo in a bit as its hanging down a lot more than this now.

I think some kind of bracket is properly allow it to be fastened to the wing is the best way for sure.

I drilled 2 small holes in the bumper and wing, where you can't see and cable tied it. Still attached 7 years later.

Nice idea, i've always thought about looping the tie around the end of the bumper, not drilling 2 holes and going back through it with the tie... good thinking

Yes that is what I have thought but with screws rather than tie wraps. But if it works it works!

I almost wept when I cut the rs2 bumper, but then I remembered i was ripped off by jay and Corey and as will said - you either take a pretty car to Spa or a functional one.

I think us have to get the Reiger replica if I was doing it again.

The other idea recommended is an aerocatch fitting.

                        That would work well.

Probably irrelevant, but there is a mounting bracket close to the wheel arch, that sits on the wing - behind the bumper...I'm pretty sure that this component is different on the RS2's - if have not changed it, then it may be contributing to the poor fitting etc.,
