Audi S2 3B/ABY weight

Hi guys,

does anybody know what is the difference between 3B and ABY S2, I mean why is ABY 100kg heavier than 3B?

3B coupe 1420 kg
ABY coupe 1525 kg

As I know, main difference between these two models is 01E tranny, but I doubt that 01E is 105kg heavier than 01A

Probably a combination of factors including but not limited to;

Heavier gearbox, heavier DM Flywheel, were the newer avus wheels heavier? Someone will know.

Was AC standard on LHD S2s?

I didn't see S2 without A/C

Was there also not extra chassis bracing on the ABY also?

The weight of my ABY is 1463 kg according to the papers, I believe my ,
3B was 1450 kg and that one didn't come wit A/C.

my 16vq is around 1200kg accornding to various sources.

aby must be 40kg heavier than 6a engine. at least. box is heavier.

plus a few khg's here and there.
lesather trim is heavy comared with cloth too

My coupe weighed in at 1380 before I took I apart (that is with a 6spd box)
I will weigh it again once the engine swap is done to see the difference
