If a cheap option 3 came about, you could take your time prepping that up for a swap in the future without having your current car off the road for a long time. Something I would do if I came across one with no rust and a good body. Much easier and cheaper fixing mechanicals than getting proper body work done imo.ABY S2 stroker (work in progress)

Good thread this as it touches a nerve with everyone at some point in old car/beloved classic ownership.Paint it Matt black with rattle cans
Drive it hard and if/when you stuff it in a ditch then get a b4 80 and fit the bits to that!
I don't worry about the paint on my cq, can see filler marks, dents, scratches but it doesn't t make it any slower to just enjoy
If you have a really nice looking car you will never be happy where you leave it cos of dents etc on car parks/getting it nicked
Lots of sound advice from everyone, and as mine is currently sulking in a lockup, out of action for 1st time in 4 yrs,and needing a serious refresh...my tuppenceworth is defo option no. 5..
and the above quote makes me chortle..and (personally)agree

Jim Morrison Quotes. It's like gambling somehow. You go out for a night of drinking and you don't know where your going to end up the next day. It could work out good or it could be disastrous.I have the same issue, see my project thread... POST 73
There is no easy answer, it's like gambling, the more you put in the more https://erasmus-home.com/en/rent-apartment/ljubljana/ have to put in or cut your losses...
If you have unlimited funds the house loses, so maybe that IS (https://swcpoker.club/) the answer!
PS If you find the answer please let me know...

My car is quickly deteriorating from a looks point of view because I spend all my money keeping it alive and running well

Nº 5 is my choice, I had a CQ20v wich I restored to as new and then sold as I couldn´t use it anymore because every outing was a worrying experience instead of pleasure, always afraid of a scratch or ding.
As someone said before me you live inside the car so mine are mechanic and interior wise in top condition as yours they look good from afar and that is enough for me, no worries, no stresses just enjoyment.... except when something goes wrong hehe!Comment

Mine came off the road at the end of 2018 for a gearbox change. Still sat on axle stands with engine and gearbox out. Decided to rebuild the engine with a new block and got stuck on the dipstick tube for months. Now it's the gear linkage for the 6-speed box holding me back. I put new tyres on it the week before I grenaded the gearbox. They will be over three years old before they get used in anger

I would seriously consider the later style linkage. Much better shift than the standard one (and much easier to find!) Shorten the rods a little... its perfect!Honda CBR 1100XX Blackbird Turbo....undergoing major changes.....
S2 Coupe... bit easier off the line...

That would be great, but I've not seen a write up of what to use and how to shorten correctly to fit. If there is one, please share the link.91 Modded 3B
