  • Replacing leaky rubber door card seals

Having found a frozen puddle in the back seat footwell of my Coupe last week, I thought it was time to fit the rubber door card seals.

I've managed to fit them relatively easily but they don't look the tidiest, I guess that with a few weeks being squashed into place they will be fine but I thought I'd check how everyone else got on with fitting theirs from the legendary group buy?

One of the seals I replaced had been stuck with silicone to the door card. I guessed that this was maybe an aftermarket leak prevention measure? Or did they come out the factory siliconed into place?

Here's some pics of how they look now:

They look absolutely fine, no sealant is needed to install these.

edit: Hold that thought the front one doesn't look quite right, there shouldn't be a gap, although since its on the inside and below the "black triangle" it will probably be okay as it will be compressed when the door is closed.

I'd never seen how they were supposed to look until I got a new set.
I can see now they will make a massive difference to keeping water out of the cabin. Mine were so degraded there was only about half of them left, and what was there crumbled to dust when I poked at it! Without the rear one in place water runs down the edge of the window, onto the inside edge of the door seal and then down under the carpet. I suspect this happens at the front too.
I'd love to renew my door opening seals one day but they are eye wateringly expensive

Did you remove the door card to replace.i wasnt happy with mine but when i took the card off they take some pulling to get the rubber lugs into position. They then fit perfectly

Had mine done recently, need to remove the door card in order to fit them or was that just me?

Do you have a part no. for these and how much were they?

The complete set of four is available from Audi tradition for about £70 plus carriage, I did a mini group buy last year.

                      Here's the part numbers, 895867691 01C 895867692 01C 895867693 01C 895867694 01C.

The door cards need to be removed to fit them without risk of damaging either the card or the seals.

Good stuff. Yes door cards off to remove which is pretty easy really. I found a guide on here.

My old seals were almost half gone too no wonder so much water was getting in!
