  • Annoying window rattle

Just wondering if anyone else has had a similar problem.
When I'm driving in my avant with my drivers window open slightly the glass starts to rattle/creek particularly over bumps or poor roads.
When the window is closed or open completely it's fine.
Also, it's not an electric window.
Done a quick search and didn't show much results.

I think it's normal, mine on a coupe makes some noise when open too but I think that's more due to the very stiff suspension + potholes the size of a Chinese restaurant's frying pan

Can't remember what the noise is like but creakiness springs to mind.

I don't have this on my coupe Ryna, yours must be broken ha ha. Wait until you have more power. It will get worse as you will hit those potholes at higher speeds.

Mine must be special then Lol. My even stiffer suspension and steering will be able to avoid more potholes when it's back on the road though

The window itself might be loose on the regulator

Or the regulator might be loose on its the window support.

          Sorry about blurry photo.

It might be worth winding the window down a little and see if you can rock it up and down , you should not be able to .

          Hope that helps

Something wrong with it, as Audi didn't design it to rattle when it was open slightly.

Door needs to be stripped out to see the 'fault'.

              Regards.

On my C4, the rivets holding the regulator to the frame had broken causing a rattle like you described.

Bringing up the thread as I have this issue too. After closer inspection I found out that guide pin assembly is hitting against window frame causing this rattle. Anyone knows are they adjustable?
