Avant spoiler options

I'm interested in buying a rear spoiler for my avant TDI.
I have no intention of paying big money for a genuine RS2 spoiler.
Has anyone ever tried altering a GRP spoiler from a different car i.e passat, A4, etc.

And as always any tips are greatly appreciated

I am also interested in this for the C4 avants, e.g. 94, that did not come with a factory spoiler. I don't know if the later hatch spoilers can be made to fit on the non-spoiler hatches. OR if there is/was an aftermarket alternative.

Its fine, will need a bit of refinishing when I am getting the car painted.

I have the feeling that the OE ones were GRP or the like so should be similar in lifespan.

I have pne of those spoilers too fo my avant but without the rear brake light. I didnt want the light. Got mine off a member on here who was selling it. Are they genuine or aftermarket?

I have one of these spoilers but the brake light is missing, does anybody know what the part number is fro the light only and where I can get it ???
