Rear bumper brackets

I received these bumper brackets today with my s2 avant rear bumper. Are these the original fixtures? They fit and line up perfectly,. (first pic)

But I just used the original mounts off my saloon bumper and it went on just fine (second pic)

Nope, they're not original. Rears are the same as standard 80 bumper, S2 has it's own at the sides. Two on the left:

Was just checking as I was planning to sell these on as I have n use for them now. I may just bin them if not original

Ah the brackets in the first picture are for the towbar fitted to an avant and then the bumper brackets attach to them. (Hope that makes sense)

My S2 Avant rear bumper didn't come with those plastic side brackets.I was told they don't have them and that the sides are fixed in the arch with screws. So what's the definitive on this.

The avant defiantly has the different brackets as shown.
If you mount the avant bumper on saloon brackets there is no where for the arch to screw into.
The avant brackets sit much closer towards the arch allowing you to screw the bumper and the arch together.

You can see the slight curve in the avant bracket that follows the arch

I thought they were NLA also, and I bought two s/h sets off the forum, but both times the "perfect brackets" were cracked.

Audi had them new for less that what I paid for the s/h ones.

Can you show me on the bumper where they attach to the bumper?

They don't attach to the bumper like saloon brackets , they attach to the body behind the bumper. Then the avant bumper clips on over that and you screw it in place through the inner arch.
Its a similar set up to the front (saloon bumper has brackets on the bumper itself, S2 bumper doesn't)
