Bonnet Release Catch

Having trouble with the o/s bonnet catch releasing have got it open now on checking it I can't figure out how it opens as when you pull the release handle the cable moves to the left and to open it you have to push the catch to the right there is a cup like thingy on the cable but can't see what it does. any help on this matter please.

Both caps has to be on the left hand side if you looking at the engine. Not sure if it makes sense

Just a note to add to this, those "sheaths" in Dave's diagram above are NLA so don't loose them like I did.
Going to have to make some new ones
