That hood is THIS close to being hacked to pieces!
Just can't get it to open on one side. When I pull the lever it pops up like it should on both sides, but only the left side will release all the way.
The opening mechanism is working like it should so I do not get it..
Both my headlamps are removed, so I have no problem operating the mechanism manually. But even then the right side is completely stuck.
Very close to the boiling point after trying to get thet hood open for the last four (4!) hours..

Thanks, but it won't work I'm afraid.
My cable is intact and the latches opens perfectly, but even so the right hand side just won't open more than the first pop you get when you pull the inside lever. Tried "everything" now, including mild violence.

Not sure on how much clearance you have available, but are you able to unscrew the spring loaded pin thats stuck. if you put a spanner on it it should unscrew fully from the bonnet.

not sure if thats of help, but just a bit confused , just like you why else it wont open if the latches open perfectly.

I had the same problem and solved as Erik did. However it takes patience and a long srewdriver at just the correct angle. Mine just refused to pop with an intact cable.

Just cannot believe this, I've spent 9 hours trying to get the thing to open. Lost all my sleep tonight as I got to have the car ready till tomorrow. But still no luck, it's impossible to get it to release on the right side.

Consider taking the bumper off for access

Bumper is off, headlights are out, grill is out, crossmember is off.
The only thing that still intact on the car is that frickin bonnet.

Are there two of you doing this? When i had to do it the side that doesn't open the cable has to be kept under load opening the catch whilst you open the bonnet.
