Thinking of getting rid of the rust and full respray.. but pricey!

Now I have my S2 back on the road and running very nicely
New front suspension
new rear brake callipers
new tyres
..

However the car is looking really tired and some nasty looking rust on wings and around the top of the windscreen.

I've just come back from a bodyshop near me suggesting a min cost of 3500, potentially rising if they find any surprises under any of the trims/rubber. So I'm guessing when you add some parts into this I'm probably looking at ~ 4k.

So first question:
Does this seem like a reasonable price for full glass out, windscreen replacements, all trim off respray?

Forget whether I should/should not spend 4k on a 23 yr old car for a moment
