    Lower door rubbers different sizes

    Evening all

So I cleared the shed out today and came accross my spare set of lower door rubbers that I kept from an s2 I broke ages ago, to my horror I found the rears a good few inches longer than my tatty ones on the car.

They also don't sit flush on the door, they stick out quite a way, il get some pictures soon but I'm guessing on the s2 the door has a slight recess on the bottom? Mine are flush all the way.

I can get them to fit with a bit of trimming etc but was never aware they came in different sizes?? When I removed the spare set from the donor car there were never any issues and they sat perfectly!

Anyone else come across this? From memory the donor car was a '95 and mine is a '93

    Cheers

I was looking at how ratty mine are today and had a browse through etka, seems there are two regular versions, and another set "vehicles with widened sill panels" listed for the S2. Wouldn't mind some clarification before i order some new ones.

Hmm....I just saw that the 895853959A was the correct lower left door trim from 1989 to 1996. (960A right)

Sorry. I couldn't really see Andy's car in his avatar there. That said "rears" should have been the tip off.

          Now I see it (them) 893853969B S2 left rear (970B - S2 right rear)

Looks more like B6/B7 or C5 trim. Definitely not a B4 saloon/avant trim.

Shouldn't there be a small one by the rear arch?
Those certainly look too big, more of a c4 size
I think I have some s2 ones still, will check against an s2 and my 80 avant quattro

Andyg check the part Number on both and see what is the difference.. I am guessing there might be a difference for S2 avant and non s2 avant, or different sizes for 91' and 95'

So getting impatient trying to find a set of decent door lower mouldings, do ones off an 80 fit ? When I've been looking the problem is the track on the back of the rubber itself, my s2 ones are very shallow and the 80 ones appear to be deeper ? So will stick out further. Can anyone confirm ?

The S2 avant/limo door mouldings are atleast the same as 89-91 Audi 90 door mouldings, excluding the end/wing pieces. Early b4 80 (91-92) might have the same ones too. Mouldings from b4 80 (93-94) do also fit but they don't match the S2 moulding end pieces . S2 one's are quite flat, 80 ones are much more bulkier or fatter. Aren't they available from audi anymore? They weren't grazy money when I bought a set couple years ago.
