Audi Allroad door alignment issue

On the drivers door it seems quite hard to open, but the door looks aligned correctly. To open I really need to press the handle firmly and pull up. When I do this there is no movement on the door itself but its enough to open the door.

I am not inclined to adjust the striker but was thinking of loosening the bottom bolts on the door and changing the angle that way.

Or is it related to the handle and lock mechanism?

If anyone has experienced this I'd like to know how you resolved it.

More than likely the lock mechanism inside the door failing,I changed one yesterday actually which was a failure on mot as it was very hard to open the door from outside.that's the 2nd in two years on that car
