    Door won't open

This car is really trying me!!!!! Can u remove the door card whilst the door is shut for some unknown reason, the 4 doors all unlock as usual but the drivers door refuses to open from inside or out.
    Any ideas?

Best to try and remove the handle first from the hidden screw, see if there is any actuation from the cable? Good luck

Then try what rynaqui said, and I don't think you can take off doorcard without opening doors, on C4 you can't at least.

Door grab handle off with Allen key and maybe a pozi screw driver
Then try to push the door card upwards but may not be enough manoeuvring room to get it free
Only other option is cut the door card-but that doesn't mean you ll be able to get at the lock any better if the lock itself has jammed, not just the rods fallen off
Got the seat belt or something caught in the door?

The inside and outside handle are clipped in to separate levers to open the door so I would think at least one would be ok.
It may be the lock mech is not releasing far enough?
Like the knobbler is rising but not moving part 16 in the drawing.
Are you using remote locking? Have you tried using a key on the outside to unlock?
Instead of butchering door card I would carefully destroy outside Handle as can be replaced easier than a single door card.

                    Good luck

Solution to one door not opening episode

Not sure if this is going to help but....

Me: "Jammed passenger door lock. 2nd time. People try to beat the door lock opening pulling handle. This happened in the summer with my wife and then yesterday with my niece. I am at the drivers door turning the key in the door lock to open the car (94 S4 avant with no remote lock, but central keyed lock). They pull up on the outside door lock before the locking/unlocking "pin" is all the way up in the door card and things jamb up seriously. Inside handle does not work. Outside handle does not work. Key in the passenger door lock is super tough to turn (like you'll break something so you stop trying)."

Responder: " In all the years with my UrS cars this has never happened to me. I'm thinking to lower the window on the problem door, (passenger front?). Then go to driver door and lock the doors so the locking "pin" is all the way down. Then go back to the passenger door and you will be able to work from the outside since the window is down, and use some type of pick/hook device that will fit down into the small locking pin's hole in the door card and somehow wrestle it back into position."

Me: "Just got home. Fixed it while I was out - variation of your suggestion. Put the passenger door window down. Locked the car at the driver's door. Went around to passenger door and put the key in the door lock. While turning the key to OPEN with my right hand, I pulled up on the lock "pin" with my left hand. Took a couple of tries but the combo of pushing and pulling eventually allowed the lock pin to come up and the door to be opened. Everything is back to normal again. Locks and unlocks from either door or the hatch just fine. Just need to teach my wife and niece some patience with the door opening procedure. "

                            Worth a try.
