Clean the rust with wire brush on the angle grinder or on drilling machine. If in the process the area gets black collor means the only way to get rust out is sandblast etc.Best way on 100% clean metal is to use epoxy primer with a layer of paint.

This maybe the issue, primer I knew wasn't waterproof, but I assumed stonechip was. I'll strip it off and put some top coat on before stonechipping again.

    Thanks

    I have used http://www.bilthamber.com/corrosion-...ments/deox-gel
Spread, leave it for short time, brush, wash few times and it is good for primer.

    Best would be: http://www.bilthamber.com/corrosion-...atments/deox-c

but I´m not sure if you want to dip your car

Depends on what primer you use.

Not tried one but they look s**t hot
It's not leaving much of a prepared surface like blasting does. A sa of about 3 is ideal and easy to get with blasting.
