I can't remove my under tray.

I've been beaten by one of the three M6 mounting screws which is just spinning in either direction inside the snap nut.

With the restricted access I have, I tried pushing the screw thread down from the top and also to one side whilst attempting to turn it loose. I also tried pushing the snap nut to the side in the hope that it will engage with the threads.

Anyone encountered this before? How did you solve it?

    Thanks in advance.

Remove the metal support bar from the subframe and take the complete assembly off the car

      I agree.
Then bin the M6 fasteners and use the later model Dzus quarter turn fasteners

Thanks chaps. It seems so obvious now that you've said it. Thanks for the tip on the later style fasteners too.

The Dzus grip pins are washers are still available from the dealers but the clips are NLA.

Any idea where I can get these from ? The ones I've found online all appear to be the 6mm type, looking at the pins I think I need a clip to accept a 5mm pin.

@hunker7, I've since discovered these aren't suitable, these are for 9mm studs rather than 5mm.
I believe the Dzus part number we need is D8-334-300-121.

I'll be sure to post a link to a supplier if I can find one, if anyone has any leads please post them here.

Might have some of these from the A8 lying around. How many do you need ? Is it just 3 ?

Yes, three is very much the magic number.
