I want to remove the passenger side rear quarter window on my Urs4 avant to tidy some flakey paint in that area. Anyone know how it comes out and goes on in one piece? Cheers

I will look for a DIY but in the meantime, Ekaterina gives you the clues. Drilling out rivets is required.
Thanks for the links and help. I started into it and it's going to be a nightmare to cut the bonding etc without the correct tools. So I managed to lift the rubber at the base of the window were the paint was peeling and rub it down and then get some epoxy zinc primer in there.
Have various other small bits arround wheel arches and on the boot lid that I'm tidying up and then will shoot some paint on it all at once on the places I repaired. Not looking for a factory finish just wanting to keep on top of stone chips etc on a 23 year old car before it turns to a rusty mess. What is some peeling paint or a bad stone chip today is a rust hole in 2 years time I have found so I like to keep on top of it every 3 or so years. Base of the front wings at the a pillar being an example that caught me out once before and required a new wing.

To remove the bonded rear side window, you have to remove this cover.
These also have to be removed.
I started with a strand of an old handbrake cable, which was stiff enough on its own
to go through the bond, then in getto fashion attached some handles.
The strand of cable worked fine but I couldn't do the bottom of the window until today. My cheap ebay window removal tool arrived.
Slowly and with multiple passes I cut the bond as close to the metal as possible.
I didnt want to damage a rubber seal.
Success on both sides.
The trim along the roof has rivets that have to be drilled, but that will be the last thing I do before car goes for paint.
