  • Sunroof-no tilt up.Help needed

Finally my sunroof has a gremlin.
Will fully open and close fine but when shut have no tilt up.Took the panel off and used the alan key and can manually tilt the sunroof up.The button will then close it but it will not tilt up again.Pretty sure its an electrical issue.
Windows for reference sake are all working
Have changed over sunroof switch and same thing occurs

Mine needs a nudge to tilt. I give it a helping hand to start then it opens and closes properly.

      Hi Rob

I've had the same fault in the past, Turned out to be the switch, Plugged another one in and hey presto

Right after a lot of brainstorming I think I have resolved the problem.
The sunroof has always worked well but something caused it to throw a wobbler
The only thing I can think of is when my son stood up on the seat and stuck his head out the sunroof ( encouraged by me,private road)he must have pushed on the sunroof panel and caused it to slip on the splines
There are two switches on the motor and they must have come out of alignment
I took the motor out and manually turned the motor until both switches were off making sure the sunroof was at a set open or closed position
I then put then motor back in and tried the sunroof and it worked perfectly
I did notice a lot of crud build up in the cog that drives the wire to move the panel. This could explain why it slipped
