I have new Febi struts fitted to the boot of my saloon for a while, but since fitting it has been the case that when I lift open the boot and the boot follows through under the 'power' of the struts and it opens fully, but there is no dampening when it comes to the end of it's travel. It just 'slams' and rocks to a stop / end of its possible travel.
Is this 'banging' correct ?
Should it not slow down a few inches before the end of it's travel ?
A comparison would be the cassette 'box' on a cheap stereo and a damped cassette box on an expensive / quality stereo ?
Any insights or comments appreciated.
As I'm wondering should I go to the expense of ordering two new oem struts from the Dealer, so that he boot is 'smoother' in it's opening ?
Thanks.
