I think most people are recommending Scratch X on minor scraps.

I'm going to try some next week.

Meguiars scratch x, its a car cleaning product, usually £8-9. Works well on small scatches and blemishes. I regularly used meguiars, do some good car cleaning stuff that actually works

Scratch X WILL removes small scratches IME but only if you cannot stick your fingernail into the scratch. If it is deep then only paint or more serious buffing will do.

That said on light scratches, bird poo marks etc it really is magic!

The Clear Coat Body Scrub from Meguiars is also very good for a pre polish cleanser. Once you have tried it you won't go back to normal polish.....

That stuff is really good but does take some time to do all stages and you need to do all three stages. Good luck with it.

                  Cheers,

The paint cleaner in their range is awsome! An absolute must if you have a red S2..The alloy wheel cleaner is pretty useful too

                        Chips Away

Posted a response to something like this a while ago. I got a fairly big scratch on my bumper when i first got my car and was so upset I almost had the thing resprayed, Until I searched the net and came across chips away. I booked an appointment and they came out on a prompt service and really done a good job, i was so impressed i got him to tidy up the other half's car.

But if the polish does the trick then your in luck. Get those elbows working kid!!!!!

before u use the stage 1 & 2 stuff, get yourself a klay bar & their quick detailer (you get them together) it'll take off all the deposits on top of the paint & smooth it out before you start the polishing/waxing steps, I've used the 1 & 2 stuff but always uses Zymol wax rather than Meguiars own stuff , everybody's got their own preferences when it comes to wax/polishes etc...

Yeah, top tip. Those clay bars are good too for pre-waxing. Reminds me i must get one again.

                            Cheers,

With regards to dents I have had two removed www.acci-dent.co.uk. The company appears to cover Scotland only but the guy who did mine in Edinburgh was top class. Fantastic job with no filler or paint. Use tools to push out from inside. Watched him do the first. Very careful, told me not perfect but I cannot see why !!
Clearly there are limits as to what can be done and where but most seem to get these on doors due to other careless drivers
I do not know where you are based but I would recommend him to any other forum users based north of the border. Worth getting him to do his magic if any of you are up here in the future. Takes about 30mins and he comes to you. Cost £50 inc vat
