Air compressor rebuild?

What could be wrong with this air compressor? If you turn it by hand, it blows air thru the crank case and out of the breather hole. Seems also that it has blown some oil outside on the block. I havn't tried it, but owner told it doesn't build up pressure. Would it be worthwhile to rebuild this block, or buy a new block for 400-500e? I just thinking of to buy this, but I'm not sure if it's wise... asking price is 100 euros for the whole junk.

Good piece of kit if running right. Sounds like the compression rings have gone

For 100euros I'd take a chance on it, Ingersol Rand are a good brand and you should be able to get parts for it, might just want a new seals?

Ok, I did buy it for 70 euros. Not a big drop, even if I don't get it working.

Indeed, quality brand, most likely rings broken due to lack of oil or many running hours. Should be fixable

Ok, sems that the compressor does build pressure quite fast, but the noise was awful. Well, the other rod bearing was gone.

The block cleaned, nicer to work with it now. The crank seal has leaked so it was really dirty. Needed also to make extra threaded holes on the wheel so I could apply a diy extractor to it and get it off the crank.
