Not sure about the saw but I have a chop saw that designed for carpentry, I think I'll invest in one of those blades and see if it's got enough power for steel.

Be careful with the blade speed, I think the TCT saws run quite a bit slower than regular chop saws

Looks like you're right, most of the TCT saws run at around 2500rpm, mine is 5000rpm.

Thanks for the heads up though, that could have been an interesting accident if I hadn't checked!!

Yeah abrasive saw is much better than not having one, but they are messy!
