That is about the right price. They are made by Modine IIRC. Genuine ones are over double that from the dealers!!! BTDT.

Hi S2roo, i am getting mine from an a/c guy i know called mark henderson at autocool,
this is in scotland tho. His mob. no. is 0770732325. tell him simon gave you his no.
if you are in england then maybe tom (last post) would be easier to get one from?
Have you been quoted a lot more? mark tells me that mondeo condensers can be had for less than £40 so we are still paying way over the odds for our cars parts! shouldnt be much difference in manufactuing costs whatever the car.

Mondeo condensors are dirt cheap, but some of them are crap BTDT. One make to stay clear off is SunHot, made in taiwan and it shows.

The law of the S*D has come into play, I picked up my condenser, right size etc... I checked all that, I get it home, try to swap the high pressure and safety switches over and they are a different thread size!!! DOH!!!!!

Anyone have any previous on this???? do I have to buy new switches??

Alternatively I'm going to take it back so does anyone know where I can source one, that is right, in the south east???

are your pressure switches & hp connection on the actual conderser?
Mine are on a manifold between the top of the condenser & the next hose. this is detachable from the condenser.
Ive had problems with euro car parts stuff before! They seem to think an S2 is just the same as an ordinary 80 coupe in a lot of cases!

my new condenser dont arrive till tomorrow so i hope i dont have thread size problems too! If I do tho, mark can fit a new connection to the required hose/pipe.
                      have fun,
                      simon

On the old one there was the manifold you describe, but on the new one it is all built in. They are going to ring me back to see what they can do.

                          Hi peeps,

Right, resolved thread size problem. The manufacture has made all the condensers with the wrong thread size! but......

Euro car parts have agreed to send it back, source me one from another manufacturer, that is more expensive, but at the price of the old one and I can pick it up tomorrow.

I will be takin my old one with me, along with a electon microscope to check every detail is correct.

So if anyone is lookin at getting a condeser, made by CIS (germany), think twice.

Oh yeah, and I forgot rant rant rant rant.
