Air from air condition smells..

The cold air that is coming from my air condition is stinking. The closest I can describe the smell is like a burning thrash container. Anyone has ideas what should I look into?

need to get a deodoriser to clean the bacteria out of the system - need to be careful as it can give you headaches and alsorts apparently.

Could it be the pollen filter needs changing?

Sure sign of bacterial/fungal colonisation. If the above link does not help get an A/C specialist to service/clean it. It is not healthy to leave it like this !
If in doubt re local A/C people ask your local stealer who they use.

Agree with Alg, mine was getting a little smelly last year. The guys who recharged the gas also ran a "disinfect" through it as they said bacteria/fungus thrive in the environment an air con system provides. They are a Bosch service place and it cost me roughly £50 all in.

i was told that the sea breexe is pretty good from the guy that re-gassed mine the other week and said that was what he used. I'm about to use a similar thing from Comma which is the same type of thing.

Smelly aircon is usually the cause of a dirty filter...
