Getting hot air from vents when i shut the climate off. Previous owner has swapped to facelift climate control. Not sure if that includes the whole system? Fan speed adjustment works as intenses but i can feel hot air sneaking through the vents. Footwell air is the biggest problem.
Not sure what you mean by facelift climate control but if there's electronic climate then they'll be a servo motor to move the temperature control flap. Using an endoscope or similar camera look inside the heater if the temperature flap is moving to the fully closed position.
Most likely the foam that's on the flap has rotted away so the flap doesn't make a good seal when it's in the fully cold position and hot air is still able to leak out.
The foam can be replaced but unfortunately you have to take the heater unit out and apart to replace the foam.
Parked the car for the winter, so i have started on the project now. I found a few threads about the climate control convension.
Seems like the convension needs some wiring job to make it work. I have now taken out my heater box, and i can't find any obvious wire job done to my loom. Maybe the flap control isnt working properly?
Some of the foam flaps seems OK, but others has holes in them, so that will probably fix some of my problems.
Climate control was available from the factory on LHD cars so if a car left the factory that way the wiring loom would look standard with the climate wires already in it. It's only on RHD cars that you either use the LHD climate loom and modify it or wire from scratch with new wires alongside to the original loom which I did first time round.
Started to reassembly the dash today, after i glued new material on the flaps. Powered up the climate panel and i can't see the middle flap move at all if i press arrow up or down on the panel. Can't see if the 2 other flaps move either.
