Sounds like it'll just be easiest to get a new compressor... they're not as expensive as i'd expected.

@Bowlerwell - I might need to PM you on this, but here goes...

Your LHD RS2 with climate control is very interesting to me. The head-unit on that can be coded for LHD or RHD operation. Info I have says that one or two sensors are not fitted on RHD cars.

      So....

      Q1 - Do you have VAG-COM ?

Q2 - If so, would you be game to disconnect a couple of sensors, then recode your head-unit for RHD operation to see if it complains about them being missing (after the right setup sequence)

I've got loads of aircon info pertinent to your car type which I'm writing up now - that should help you get up and running with the new compressor.

        Paul, These arn't that complicated, I fitted a pump from a s6.
Best way I found was if its 4 bolt fitting it will fit the RS2, I used my pulley and clutch, swapped easy from ribbed S6. Changed the rear part of the pump to my RS2 one and didn't use the pressure sensor on the pump as the RS has it on the condensor.
        Regas and all sorted.
        Pump cost about £30.

Yeriknow, but there are the other complications on the head-unit combinations...

Nice to know the pulleys are interchangeable on the compressors though.

Didn't think any of the compressors had pressure sensors on them... Only wiring I've seen reference to on the compressor is for clutch control and compressor speed (not on all models incl S2/RS2).

Hey Paul. Yeah, i'd be game for a bit of testing. As long as you give me good details of what I have to do.

I'll probably replace the compressor in the next few months. I think the one I have is only attached with 2 bolts (although I believe it's from a urS6). I'd like to get the system tested for leaks before I go and spend a fortune fixing the compressor only to find that something else is broken...

Happy to guide you through it - but its only possible if you have a fully licensed VAG-COM there.

Meantime it would be cool if you can take a few photos to confirm the location of the following items -

              - cabin temp sensor which I think is middle of dashboard near the vent at the windscreen. Dunno if its visible though.

              - roof temp sensor which is in the switch panel for the sunroof and courtesy lamp

              - the water temp sensor in one of the heater matrix hoses - visible in the engine bay

Sorry Paul, I don't have the fully licenced VAG_GOM, just the shareware.

I can take pics for you though.
