Take a surf around for a decent A/C specialist. I've forgotton who and when posted it, but there are some good places out there.

Hardly any Audi garages do their own A/C work - it is often contracted out - such is the specialist nature of A/C - AUdi will charge a fortune for the parts.

Suggest you try VAGparts.COM as well but the A/C gurus often get the best deal with specialist vendors of pattern parts etc. The condensor on the S2 is common to all 80 series cars for any given model year.

What system is your car running - R12 or R134a ? - if you don't know then you MUST find out before getting any A/C work done. Long story but search the group for previous threads on that subject.

DONT buy 2nd hand. Martyn at VAGparts will be about the cheapest. I bought mine through a company i deal with in the garage trade and was about £140 ish. When it arrived it was an OE part!! Check earlier posts about the R12 and R134a stuff. It was a long one. Easy to fit.

PS watch out for the threads pulling on both ends of the condenser when undoing, steel threads with alloy nuts, nice one audi. If hubby is a/c expert then he should be able to repair pipes if needed.
