    Fitting AC

Has anyone fitted AC to a non AC car? and for that matter, the LHD climate control to a UK car?

How much work is involved and what is required?

    Cheers
    Mike

    why do it?
I waited for an S2 without ac on purpose - less bits, less weight, less to go wrong

I don`t know, its not exactly hot here often, but I`m one of these folk that prefers the cold to the hot and I really miss it as the S3 has it.

        -

Retro fitting an Air conditioning system to a car is quite an involved task , I have fiitted systems to the Suzuki Wagon-R for clients in the past , Suzuki and a few other manufacters build their cars with the provision to fit a kit after production , the main problem would be the wiring , I could research it for you if you like ??? Most people think air con is just for cooling in the summer ! But infact it works just as well in the winter on hot , as a dehumidifier ! And it is more economical to drive with the a/c system on , than it is to drive with the windows open !!!!!! And before you ask ..... I make my living from automotive Air conditioning !!!!!!! I've done both. It's quite a lot of work...............there's several posts about it on here under the heating and AC section. Have a look at those and I'm happy to answer any questions.

I haven't weighed it but more like 40-50kg I'd guess.
