I'm planning on retaining the A/C on the car, though it will probably need a bit of an overhaul - think there's a leak somewhere - but I've come across 2 issues, seeing as the donor engine was not an A/C fitted car:
1) the snub mount bracket is obviously different. I've swapped the bracket over, but is there any other device that should be fitted with the compressor to tighten the belt? I'm thinking like the PAS pump. Because I can't find anything, and don't have a compressor yet (need a replacement as I now only have a 3B one
) to try and fit.
2) The line that runs from the bottom of the condensor to the compressor - where does it go and what does it look like?
Can't find anything in my box of tricks so suspecting this is missing too.
Other than that, a damaged thread on the pipe that bolts onto the top of the compressor probably warrants a replacement so lots of work scoungin parts from the weight watchers I reckon
On a plus - the radiator is fitted and plumbed in now, minus a couple of bolts on the cowling and some bungs for aux rad pipes. And 4.5l of Silkolene now fills the sump... not far from cranking... who will be first - me or Jamo?
