    heater blower on Ur S4?

I know there a few guys here with UrS4's so Im wondering if you have any tips on fixing a noisy heater blower on this car? ( squeeking!)
I can see the ****** if I remove a lot of the under bonnet coverings & have even tried squirting some WD40 on the bearing area but the annoying squeel still comes back!
nothing seems to be touching the fan so Im guessing its the bearings.
Its not there all the time & seems to come & go when you go over bumps!

    Its a '94 L reg & has a/c.
My job to get fixed for my brother coming back for holiday soon. bloody thing only gets used 2 or 3 weeks a year!

    cheers,
    Simon

afraid I don't know how to solve it - would love to know though as ours does exactly the same!
Haynes Manual:As described in Chapter 7...

Translation:That'll teach you not to read through before you start, now you are looking at scarey photos of the inside of a gearbox.

I had the same issue, terrible squeak, not all the time when not using the AC compressor, but always when on AC.

I tried spraying silicone into the motor but it made no difference..

I ended up replacing the motor, which isn't too hard a job as we have RHD cars, looks a lot harder on the LHD cars as the motor is mounted the other way round..

Once you slacken everything off, you can pull the motor out of the housing with a bit of jiggling.

I also tryed to spray some lube on the bearings but that didn't help, the noise allways came back.

So i replaced the motor with the heater matrix as it's wise to do that if you end up taking the hole thing out from the car. Not so much more work. That is on a LHD car.
Now quattro less, my urs4 stolen 13.8
