    A/c

I've had someone out to charge up the ac and test for leaks. Turns out there is a relatively large hole in the low pressure liquid line. This is the aluminium pipe which runs from the compressor to the expansion valve (compressor side). The quote for a new VAG part is enough, but labour is pretty hefty aswell. Can anyone tell me the following:-

    a) Anyone here specialise in ac?
    b) Quote on a new pipe, or where can I get one?
    c) Could I get the pipe brazed instead of replacing, hence saving on the cost of the part, but more importantly the labour!

Travelling abroad in 4 weeks - would be nice to keep cool!

Do you mean the pipe that runs under the engine??

I had a pipe repaired on my car about a year ago. Cost of new pipe was 120 quid and the repair was done for about 10!!

The pipe will only be aval. from Audi (or VAGPARTS). Buy a pipe and fit it yourself. Or get a garage to fit it for you. Use new 'o' rings and then get it gassed up.

    Condensor(rad) to compressor pipe right?

It runs vertically from condensor below up to top of engine (heat reflector around it) and has a 90 deg bend, joins another pipe and runs horizontally along rear of engine bay. The labour costs ive been quoted amount to £300 + - whatever! Wish I had a part no. Good idea thou, I could get a garage to fit the pipe at a much lower cost.
