    Aircon LP connection.

As the title suggests, my gas is low and I've got the kit to top it up but I can only find the HP connection. Any idea where the LP one is, before I start digging through the dash looking for it.
    Cheers

The easiest is to top up through the high pressure port on the radiator as every car has one of these - BUT - whatever is says on the can, DON'T run the engine & compressor whilst doing this and you'll need a high side to low side adaptor which doesn't come with the usual top-up cans.

Some cars have a low pressure port on the compressor but it's hard to get at and it usually has a different (screw) fitting on it unless someone has changed it before you, which you'll strugle to connect a top-up can to.

The official low pressure fitting, if it's fitted, is by the low pressure switch which is inside the car on the side of the evaporator up behind the Motronic ECU. Hard to get at especially with a top-up can with a short hose. It's easier to feel than see, easier with the ECU removed.

If you go to KwikFit, Halfords or similar make them do the regass via the high side port on the radiator. They can all do it, it's just that because it's unfamiliar you'll often be told they can't do it that way. Truth is most of them use an automated system and it's just a case of reading the instructions to set it up in a way they're not familiar with

This is a picture of the side of the heater/evaporator unit with the low side port circled. This picture is of the side normally up against the bulkhead, hence my earlier comment of it being easier to feel than see.

Thankinyou gents, I don't use a top up can because I have the kit for topping up large industrial refridge units so I recon I may have the connection for the pump (I've also got a load of R134a in the shed, as you do).
Cheers for the piccies (make at lot more sense to a simpleton like me)
