Squeeling Aircon

Recently I've noticed that when I put my aircon on, I get a horrible screaching noise. I suspect it is a belt slipping. Whenever I get the noise, if I switch aircon off, the noise goes away.
It doesn't happen all the time, but when it does, it is very loud.

Is there a way to tighten the belt? Where is the belt? Is it an easy job, or should I get it into a garage?
