possible causes why the aricon is not functioning.

At the moment I am do a major maintenance. During my maitenance I noticed some strange things on my aircon system, Which, in my opinion is not correct.

The first I noticed was that the hose which runs from the pump the radiator is almost flat, is just look if someone has hit it for a few times with a hamer:

The other thing I noticed was that, on top of the aircon radiator, you have 3 connections, I only have 2 plugs which are connected, I dont see a third one

as long as the pipe is not completely crushed it should be ok,the 3 rd connecter looks like a guage line port and should have a plastic cap its for checking the high pressure side of the air con
my other half is an aircon engineer so any advise please ask

Do i need the 3rd for the aircon to function?

this IS the high pressure connection, it is a valve for putting the AC equipment onto. You do need it, it isnt connected to anything normally. Its just like the valve for a tyre
