    Pipe part number help.

After investigation at the weekend, I've found a split in an aircon pipe on my RS2.

The specific location is the major pipe union just to the right of the airbox that has easy access and just requires a couple of large spanners to undo.

The pipe with the split is the left hand one that then appears to go into the inner wing. Tried replacing the O-ring, the regassed, but that didn't help and you can feel the gas escaping at pressure, so the pipe itself needs replacing.

Anybody have an idea if its a significant length of pipe, or if only a small section needs replacing? Part number would be a massive help too! Can take a photo if need be.

    Cheers!

Hope this helps identify it on my RHD car. Its the pipe with the heat shield webbing (left of the darker coupling nut) that then goes through the inner wing.

          Same Happened to me

The very same thing Happened to me

This pipe goes to the dryer which is in the front section above and to the outside of the oil cooler, Need to take off arch liner to get at it. Going by memory something like £130 for the pipe and seals and may as well do the dryer whilst you are there

What I found was that the rest of the pipe under the flexi heat is OK as its coated with some clear coating. This liquid stops just before the bend. It corrodes with either water wicking up the cloth under the tinfoil, Salt water and Ally really not compatible or brake fluid being spilt on it from above. When I put a replacement back on I wrapped it in self amalgamating tape and have had no isue with it since

          Cheers Paul
