Wanted : RS2 Air Condition Condensor

hi guys,

just got back from the air con guys (as my ac isn't blowing cold) and the car needs a new condensor

they aren't sure if it's the same part as the 80 avant (he thought it was a bit more special \ thicker)

does anyone know where I can source this part?

parts in NZ are pretty scarce (actually, people knowing what a RS2 is , is pretty scarce!)

any help appreciated!

Actually, looks like just searching the web is yielding pretty good results.

Hi

I bought mine last year from Quattro Corner (details can be found on this site).

From memory it was OEM (either Behr/Hella or Valeo I can't remember).

make sure you buy one that is for R134a as R12 is now illigal, this includes the R12 o-rings not being able to be used with R134a refrigerant as it perishes them rapidly and you will be back to square one....

**Edit, the fittings have been converted for r134a couplings also, so perfect!

Obviously, it's nice to get a new one if you can and can afford it but if you need to source one in NZ a secondhand one from any 5 cylinder Audi 80 series will do. If it's old enough to have R12 fittings then you'll need to change them to R134a fittings but that's easy enough to do.
