    Fan not blowing for full?

    Hi

    I'm having a little problem with my AC/clima control.

    here's what you have to know:

    -The AC compressor belt is not on (previous owner tok it off cuz off a "bad sound in compressor")
    -When the car is running i can choose how fast the coupe fan going determent on how much i have the gas pedal in (wtf?)
    -The coupe fan "resistor" that's behind the gloveroom is changed from a original part (broken, fan always went on full speed. Previous owner changed this several years ago when it went bad, now it was my turn) I got my resistor from Ebay with the same partnumber but after i tok it in the coupe fan goes like it's on speed1 on cars without clima (speed0-4)
    -When i have the ignition or the car on i can click the buttons on the clima and the fan infront of the radiator/ac radiator will start.

    clima buttons:
    off= fan off
    econ= fan speed like 50%
    rest of the modes= fan going on full

    I will understand that i will never get the AC to work while the belt is not on, but as for now i need a solution so i can get the coupe a little warmer when the winter is soon coming here in Norway.

    This is for the old digital clima for audi coupe/s2. Not the one u see in C4. http://finncdn.no/mmo/2013/8/vertica...4361821_xl.jpg Link to how it looks like for no confusions

    Sorry if you guys want to kill me for my "awesome english" but hope it's understandable atleast =)

    Daniel

    can you clarify if you have manual A/C with the 3 rotary knobs or digital climate control?

        Your fan speed is controlled by the resistor pack.

        There are at least two different resistor packs used, depending on the size of your fan motor. I suspect that when the previous owner replaced the resistor pack he replaced it with the wrong one. By you replacing it with one from ebay with the same part number it is possible that you are continuing to use the wrong resistor pack.

        I suggest you try and look up the correct resistor pack part number with your Audi dealer or on somewhere like Vagcom. Should have said Vagcat.com, not Vagcom

          He changed the resistor for about 5years ago that he got from the audi dealer here in Norway. That new part worked. It broke again for about a year ago but he didnt change it becouse audi norway did not sell that part anymore. And he had the same problem as i did for a while. Finding the part with right part number. So the resistor that i tok out now was a original part with the same part number audi norway gave me couple weeks back. I find nothing with vagcom.

          What else can be wrong? Or better yet to role out the resistor is it possible to get a link to where i can buy it from? Looked for days.
          Part number that was on the resistor that was in the car and that i got from audi norway: 893 820 523B

              Do you still have the previous resistor pack - the one that worked only on full speed?

              If you do, as a test you could put that one back in. The reason that one only works on full speed is because the thermal fuse on it is broken - that's the silver link across the top. Before you put it back in, put a link across the thermal fuse just so you can try it and also check your fan motor rotates freely. If it doesn't, lubricate it.

              If the fan motor now works with that pack then at least you have a resistor pack you know works, you just have to take it out and replace the thermal fuse properly before you put it back in for good.

              Check also that you've got good connections to the motor.

                Ya i still have the other resistor pack. Thx, i will try this and report back.

                "If the fan motor now works with that pack then at least you have a resistor pack you know works"

                With this you mean that i can regulate the speed as is if was all working, correct?

                  Okey. i tried putting the old resistor pack in and it that one still only blows on full speed.

                  http://oi39.tinypic.com/k3tbo4.jpg This is the one that is working on full-speed i have.

                  The thermal fuse. where/how do i do that? Pictures would be awesome=)

                    Having looked at your picture you appear to have a type of fan speed control unit I've never seen so it must be just for some left hand drive cars.

                    The only electonic fan spped control unit I've seen doesn't look anything like the one in your picture so I can't be any more helpful.
