I finally found my mystery coolant leak! The O ring on the samco heater hose vent screw was the problem. The rubber O ring distorted from the screw being too tight causing it to dribble. What made the leak hard to find is that it seamed to only dribble while running under load, not at idle, and the dribble went down the back side of the hose. 
I could not see the source of the leak, only finding the coolant pooling is small areas on the bell housing and block ventilation flange. Very annoying to say the least.
Has anyone else had this problem with the Samco vent screw? Anyone have a good suggestion for a replacement seal other than a rubber/silicon O ring?
