I'm guessing months but I am a pessimist regarding such things.

    Good luck.

(Remember some parts are going NLA)

  • Blower Motor Problem Fixed....thanks to JohnE

Having scoured the forum for hours on this topic I came to the conclusion that there was no perfect solution to the squeaking/slow spinning blower motor.

However, a PM to JohnE and everything started to make sense and this really is a straight forward fix once you can get the motor off.

Step 1 - remove glove box
Step 2 - remove all connections from blower motor
Step 3 - remove screws holding blower motor in place (the last one at the top is the tricky one, it needs the dash dropping out slightly at the end to provide enough space to access it with a socket set.
Step 4 - lube the motor at the bearings (front and back)
Step 5 - test it whilst off the car and check it spins properly and runs on once the 12v power is cut off from it
Step 6 - replace/reconnect everything beck up and test

The result is that my blower works on all 4 settings and my aircon is once again restored.

So no need for a £400 replacement from Audi a believe me there are no aftermarket ones out there, I have scoured the planet for one.

Thanks John, I just hope I haven't dropped you I it now
