    Climate panel controls rad fan....

    Hi

Have noticed kind of strange behavior with the radiator fan.

My RS2 have Auto climate control and when the A/C is turned on the radiator fan run as it should, fan also cut in when engine temperature reach approx. 95 deg.

However it is also running when the A/C is turned off AND the temperature in the cabin panel is adjusted above 19-20 deg OR when the cabin fan speed is raised above stage 3-4!
The car had an A/C service with refilling and leak test of refrigerant last year without changing the behavior of the system.

Have anyone experienced similar problem with the A/C/climate control on the 80 series or have a good guess of the cause?

The climate's secret menu have some options.

does the fan turn on together with the compressor clutch? that would explain the fan and we should look to a problem in a different perspective - i.e. why does the a/c start.

If not, it is really, really weird.

On mine the fan is not only turning on with the A/C compressor.
It seems to be "controlled" by temp setting and cabin blower setting, when one or both of those are increased the radiator fan comes on.
However when the A/C compressor is turned on the fan is also running.

        Very strange behavior

Not sure about the hidden menu`s of the climate panel, how to you get access to this?

so if you wanna enter the climate, this is the way

when i turn on the ignition key and the climatronic activate, the radiator fan also works, on LO until HI makes no difference she always turn with a cold or hot engine. also the little star for AC turns off when the temperature is below 7° degrees i can't turn it back on. When the temperature rise it works again.
someone can explain this? sorry to hack your topic...
