Just had the aircon regassed. Only 11 months ago, the previous owner had shelled out for a new dryer, new something else and a change of gas from the old stuff to 134a. About 4 weeks ago, the aircon packed in. The nice people from VACS re-gassed it under warranty, and put in the UV leak detection dye. Let's hope it was just under-use that caused it to lose the gas?

Nah, you have a small leak. My favourite :$
Hopefully the UV dye will show up. Expect it to not work again. Leaks dont cure themselvessigpic

Curses...
Why is it with this damn S2 that as soon as you think you've fixed all the niggles and have a fully-functioning car, something else comes along and bites you in the ****/wallet?Ex S2 owner, now running around in an A4 Avant quattro...

Air con requires regular use otherwise the gas sits in the pipes and the seals dry out and you lose pressure and the damn thing stops working. We recommend our customers use their ac at least once a week for at least half an hour and our ac guy recommends a service/gas check every couple of years. Hope this info is of some help.A6 Avant Tdi 110 because as the fuel prices keep going up I am so happy to be getting 649.8 miles to a tank of diesel!! (£50)
