We have made an enhancement so that old threads should now link from search results to the correct thread. This is not yet in place for single post links
The blower in the cabin is dead. Fuses are OK so I suspect the motor. This is the one tucked up above the passenger footwell isn't it? I have poked around but can't quite see how to get the thing loose.
The fan itself rotates - anticlockwise I think. Best to disconnect the wiring for the resistor pack first. Try running the fan on speed 4 - it might kick it into life
it's held in with (i think, can't remeber 100%) phillips screws. once those are removed tho, you still have a fight on your hands. there's a part of the dash support that is about 1/2" too far forward (thanks audi ) what you need to do is to apply brute force and ignorance to the problem and it will come out by way of the fan impellor bending. i would advise doing this in as warm a place as possible to avoid shattering the fan impellor.
