Part Number for Pipe - 1994 ABY

I've looked on EKTA at the Stealer and before I go and order the wrong pipe for £106, can someone confirm the part number of the part I really want?

    Is it: 8A2 260 740 AD?

    Or, is it: 8A2 260 709 AG?

    Much appreciated.

It is on the left of the picture - and runs from this location under the right-side wheel arch to the compressor I believe?

AD is coming from the drier located in the RH side wheel arch.
AG is between condenser and evaporator running by the firewall (or what ever it is in english) to the rad/evap assy.

I'd say that's AD without _any_ RHD experience.

        Thanks Porkkis.

Its just that in the schematic the drawing doesn't have the hex coupling drawn on it at the firwall end i.e., the end of the pipe that leads towards the rad assembly?

Be very carefull with these numbers as the pipes on some cars were actually labeled up wrong at the factory. I got caught out by this once

I couldnt actually find it on ETKA. It was listed poorly. So the owner is getting it from VAG parts!!

                Hey Tom,

But which part is HE getting then?

                Go on....tell me!

Hopefully VAG parts will tell me when I get a hold of them!

                Schematic is absolute b*****x.

I replaced this one a couple of weeks ago, not too much of a pita. It costs about £70 -£80 iirc, I think the part no. is 8A0260740AE.

Tom did you find a small corroded hole on the bend in the pipe??

Where are you gonna get yours re-gassed?

Yeah the pipe rots out behind that heat sheild wrap stuff. It is so hard to try and work out which pipe it is, so if you let a partsman pick the part number, then we dont end up with expensive, special order goods on our hands, as they wont take them back.

Alan at VAGPARTS concurred that the part I wanted was the one ending in "AD". He also concurred the schematic was ****.

                            Best thing?

Bloody £40 cheaper than the Audi Stealer wanted for it.
