If im right, which i know as i always am, then the larger diameter pipe will be ok as you can the have the custom bolt in peice made to fit both ends.

I was thinking 3B DP and then custom single pipe (without any splitter) all the way to the joint before the middle box (on the Avant).

Spooky Martyn - I printed off some parts images to compare the 3B and ABY systems a few days ago.

What I'd like to do is see if the 3B DP fits the ABY application so that a decent straight thru system could be attached - or perhaps onto a single sports style CAT.

This would remove the restrictive 2:1 splitter that is built into the ABY DP...

I reckon it will paul, the 3B uses the same DP gaskets (top end) so that'll bolt on, the bulkhead is the same on both 3B and ABY Coupes, Avants appear to be different though....

So that just leaves the gearbox.... will a 3B DP fit and clear with an ABY box...??? that's the unknown??

That was exactly my plan. I have found a place that will custom make 130mm dia 100 cell metal substrate sports CAT including reducers to whatever pipe size for about £250. With a 3B DP that could make for a very good replacement system - that should keep the emissions within limits too.
