  • faster boost at lower revs - recipes?

I am planing *) to upgrade my ABT tuned ABY (~275 horses) such that I get boost at lower revs and faster ater I open the throttle. max hp should not decrease of course but I clearly do not aim foor 400hp, 300 with early boost would make me happy. I did search on this, but besides sidementioning some of the items I have below no threads on this.

Things I think of doing are:
    - continue without cats
    - new (Garret?) turbo optimised for boost at lower revs
    - shortened inlet piping, e.g. AAM IM or 'reversed' ABY
    - optimised IC with minimal internal volume, possible a water cooled type
    - minimise pressure hoses, use rigid tubes as much as possible

does this make sense, will this work as I hope?

in some old thread I found using the search I read

so why is that? it does work on the AAM

Because the S2's rad get's in the way of the AAN inlet manifold, that has to be moved to an angle.

There are pictures of it knocking around the forum.

Doing all of that should certainly help with an earlier spool up. look at the ball bearing turbos if you want quick spool up

that would make it more difficult to implement, not prevent it from working

I never said that Mihnea did so take it up with him

Merely pointing out why he said it, the rad moving has been done though so it is possible.

don't take it personal, I just quote from another post on this forum...

I heard somewhereelse that with the AAN IM cylinder 1 would be "left dry"?

All you need to do to get full boost with even half throtle is written here:

It is a good read and I recommend it.
