  • Removing a Tial waste gate flange on wagner

Hi all. I've just bought an wagner RS2 EVO exhaust manifold from jogi but he informs me that it has a Tial waste gate flange welded on top of it.

But Looking at the price for these Tial waste gates, they seem to be a lot of money for little benefit over the OEM Audi item. And that's probably money I'd rather spend elsewhere on the car.

So I wonder if the Tial flange can be easily (and cheaply) removed?

Or if not maybe a Tial flange added to the bottom of the OEM audi waste gate?

Basically im asking how much is it going to cost to put the OEM waste gate back on vs just buying a Tial waste gate and V band clamp.

    What are my options?

You could make an adaptor to fit the Audi gate to the vband.... Or, you don't need to use a Tial wastegate, you can use another brand.

Are the original stud holes still there or have they been welded up?

When I spoke to Mark, I'm sure he said they would need rethreading. The flange has been welded on properly.

It looks like it would be easy enough for a workshop to remove the flange, resurface the mounting face and to redrill the holes.

Could be worth taking the manifold and wastegate to a couple of local shops for a price?

I suppose if an adapter could be made for the audi wastegate it would leave me the option to change it later on if I felt the need to.
