    Opinions about Furans exhaust manifold?

What do people know, heard about it? I reckon it is pretty good.
Would it be good for 500hp?Would it be as good as the RS2 EVO? pros/cons?

    thanks

For reliability you can't beat cast IMO.

These manny's are great performance items but not fit and forget items.

                    100% AGREE

                    i have a wagner manifold.

it is good and has lasted a fair bit. i have only 1 brace on it from turbo to valve cover.

the issue is the unbraced wastegate. it has cracked and been welded but due to the way its constructed with the turbo flange last its not possible to weld all the way round the pipe leaving a very small cracked bit. its fixable though.

when at gatebil i saw loads of tubulars and most had been cracked previously and looked heavily beefed up at the gate.

best to ask for extra weld on the gate pipe and also brace it along with the turbo.

for all the downfalls i still appreciate the benifits and would rather have tubular. i prefer the lower egt etc and with a bigger turbo i think flow is very important.

That is very true, trying to get people to buy a tubular or other type of manifold with their eye open. Often they expect it to have the same durability as the OEM.

I know Repo stands by his manifolds for not cracking with the correct bracing

that is excactly what i hear from any manufacturer that makes tubular items.
But noone ever mentions what 'correct bracing' means

on a responce from furans he mentioned that there should be a flexi pipe on the downpipe.Didnt mention anything about the wastegate though...

i suspect that braces are more often custom made depending on the areas of possible support etc.But you have to rely on the knowledge of the mechanic to be sure that it will work.
honestly i didnt know about the wastegate crack issues.I thought that the main problem was the tubes due to the downpipe non movement

Wastegate cracking was a big issue on the early 034 Rs2 replica manifolds, it depends on the length of wastegate attachment pipe.

Correct bracing is a brace at the top and bottom. They are normally custom made 034 sell a kit for it.

The must be one to buy however, I have asked in the past as a few members on here all seem to have the same type of brace.
