I'd spend a few bob on this as it would make the car sound ace and would improve performance too ÂŁ300 would buy & fit a fully controllable one with 3" dump pipe under the car. Have to wait and see.

Cable one is cheap but you don't get the Y pipe so it's not that much cheaper than the QTP item. That Summit racing item looks like the QTP one too.

Add this option to the modular exhaust idea then...

Cheers James same to you too mate.

I would go back to a 2 box system with the valve after the centre box if possible. I've got a spare centre section with a silencer on it so could have that hacked about. Not going to happen for a bit but for pure grins this gets 10/10

Had the car running in a very narrow wallewd street yesterday, WOT in 1st was like heaven!

It's an electronically controlled proportional valve (you hold the button down for a few seconds to open fully and as it opens in discrete steps, you can open it a little or a lot). I'm getting it fitted by Prospeed in Cardiff, as they fitted the exhaust originally and have done any changes and upgrades since.

Placement and size are TBD, as I can go for a side exit 3" under the rear seats with a pipe sticking out in the traditional side exit position, just forward of the rear wheels or a 2.5"/3" with down swept tail pipe just alongside the rear silencer. There are lots of options and I'll make sure I look into which one is best before I take the plunge.

If I was having it fitted from scratch, I'd run it in parallel to the rear box and out one of the twin pipes, for a really neat design but that's not possible, due to the rear box I have being too large and the cost of getting it re-done.

Price wise, it was either have the rear section made in 3" from just under the rear seats (it's currently 2.5") and risk it being boomy and loud all the time or have the valve fitted and keep my near stock sounding exhaust but with the added option of going to full Group B spec noise levels for the same money and having a freer flowing exhaust, due to there being no silencers between the cat and exit.

I believe that Prospeed use these valves -
