Just had a valve fitted at Prospeed today. Here are some pictures of the installation -

I'm very pleased with the installation - it's totally hidden from the outside and fits perfectly in the space where the original centre box went. The wiring was easy enough I have taken a 12V feed off the cigarette lighter and run the wires along all of the original harness routes and then through the grommet that holds the vacuum lines to the rear diff and then finally, they go up and over the heat shields and plug straight in.

On the road, the car is as before, with the valve closed but even the slightest opening improves the sound somewhat with fully open being utterly insane and not something I'll use that much, although the pops and bangs would not be out of place on a rally stage. On WOT, it sounds hilarious and certainly shocked Charlie from Prospeed (pictured) who just wasn't expecting the acceleration to be as severe! It's not very subtle but gives a full range of sounds from church mouse to p'd off lion.

I'll give it some time to make a final decision. I think that I should have put a small silencer on the dump pipe but that's hardly a difficult thing to have done in the future.

For completeness, Prospeed use these valves.

Just trying to sort one at idle but TBH it's not really where it sounds the best. Will try and get a drive-by soon

I've been thinking about one these lately, possibly wired up to a FUNK switch for added giggles!

The switch supplied with the kit is reversible, so you'd have to have another one to turn it off

                  Valve operation.

Noise at idle (valve is opened early on and closed a few seconds from the end).

Best to speak to Charlie as it's dependent on how you integrate it. He charges a fixed rate for the valve and basic fitting but then add pipe to bypass a silencer or route outside etc. Based on how long it all took, the labour alone would cost what he charges for the valve!

I wired up the car and fitted the switch and was part of the design process as I wanted it totally hidden away for maximum stealth.

I have a nice idea for an alternative rear box setup using one but you'd be able to see it a bit.

Charlie did say it's most likely the neatest he's done so I was happy to hear that for sure

Need a DE-FUNK switch too then you say

Very nice piece of kit and well fitted, does it feel faster or slower to drive with the added noise? I know back when I was 17 a friend had a 1.1 nova, it was very loud and very slow, but at least when he had the regular exhaust on it felt like you were making progress
