Just got a aby lump as most of you know, from the wastegate comes a flexi pipe about 5 or so inches long, I do not have this part, do I need it? I am fitting this engine to my cq type 85, so will have to get a custom exhaust anyway.

Get one made when you have the downpipe made up, make sure that the place use the correct flexi. The other option is to leave the WG as a separate pipe :mischeif:

hmm.. will you get flames from a sep wastegate pipe?

will it be a lot noisier?

was gonna do this on mine. have seen it on a couple of subarus before. it helped spool and top end too. better breathing.
